Awesome I am happy to hear that! The sulfur didn’t smell too bad at the top, though being a local I am quite used to that smell!

I love hiking (especially in the mountains) and this trail looks awesome! Did you smell sulfur near the top? :)

Haha that must prove how amazing of day trek it is to be worth all the suffering! Yeah I have read about people doing it in overcast weather and they would have missed out on such beautiful views. We must have been lucky that day as there was barely any wind. It totally is a long hike and the forest at the end just seems to go on forever, but once you reach the car park you just get an overwhelming feeling of relief. Glad you enjoyed it though :)

The Devil’s Staircase was hard indeed, but I think I found the next part, climbing the Red Crater, even harder, with those strong winds trying to knock us off of our feet. I’m sweating just thinking about it! :D Definitely worth the effort though, although I was never as glad to have reached the end of a hike.
