From my understanding you can stay on Cat Ong privately, though it is best to do it in a tour so you can join in on excursions, buffet meals and you will get better bang for your buck.

Did u take a small boat or ferry from cat ba island to reach cat ong island? please advise, i would love to stay over at the same hostel/bungalows u stayed in if u don’t mind sharing how to reach cat ong?
